December 2024 - Boulia to Gemtree and back Again!

The Boulia Shire Council proudly acquired three iconic billboards to become part of their public art offerings in the town.

With Rick Britton, Mayor of Boulia, and Karen Stephens, Gallery Director of the Winton Regional Gallery and Chair of the Outdoor Billboard Gallery Inc on this road trip, the adventure to bring these artworks home took us on a journey along the legendary Outback Way, from Boulia to Gemtree and back again. The searing 45-degree heat didn’t deter our dedicated road-tripping team as we transported these stunning pieces through the heart of the Australian outback.

This epic road trip was more than just a logistical challenge—it was a celebration of art, community, and the rugged beauty of the landscape we call home. We will update when the billboards are on display, standing tall as a testament to the vibrant culture and collaborative spirit of our region.

We invite everyone to visit the Outdoor Gallery and experience the unique fusion of art and outback life. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expand and celebrate creativity in the most remarkable locations!
